The section of “Activated Complex Theory” from the chapter entitled “Chemical Dynamics – I” covers the following topics:
Origin and development of Activated Complex Theory (Transition state theory or Theory of absolute reaction rate) with special reference to the significance of entropy of activation and enthalpy of activation. The results of the activated complex theory are also compared with Arrhenius predictions.
